AI Policy
Effective Date: February 2026
At Monitory, a product of Tactical Edge AI, LLC, artificial intelligence is at the core of our platform. We are committed to the responsible, transparent, and ethical use of AI in manufacturing operations. This policy describes how we develop, deploy, and govern AI within Monitory.
1. How We Use AI
Monitory uses AI and machine learning for the following purposes:
- Predictive Maintenance: Analyzing sensor data (vibration, temperature, acoustic) to predict equipment failures before they occur.
- Anomaly Detection: Identifying unusual patterns in equipment behavior that may indicate degradation or impending failure.
- Root Cause Analysis: Assisting maintenance teams in diagnosing the underlying causes of equipment issues.
- Work Order Optimization: Prioritizing and routing maintenance tasks based on urgency, resource availability, and equipment criticality.
- Knowledge Extraction: Processing technical documentation, manuals, and historical maintenance records to surface relevant information for technicians.
- Operational Analytics: Generating insights on plant performance, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and maintenance KPIs.
2. AI Model Governance
Training Data
Our AI models are trained on aggregated, anonymized equipment performance data. Customer-specific data is never used to train models for other customers without explicit consent. We maintain strict data isolation between customer environments.
Model Transparency
We strive to make our AI outputs explainable. When Monitory makes a prediction or recommendation, the platform provides context on the contributing factors and confidence level, enabling maintenance teams to make informed decisions.
Human Oversight
Monitory is designed as a decision-support tool. AI-generated predictions and recommendations are always presented to human operators for review and action. We do not automate safety-critical decisions without human approval.
3. Data Processing
- Equipment data (sensor readings, machine logs) is processed to generate predictions and recommendations.
- No personal data is used for AI model training. Our predictive models operate exclusively on equipment and operational data.
- Data minimization: We only process the data necessary to deliver the services described in your service agreement.
4. Bias and Fairness
Our AI systems operate on equipment sensor data and do not make decisions about individuals. However, we are committed to ensuring our AI is fair and unbiased:
- Regular audits of model performance across different equipment types and manufacturers
- Monitoring for performance drift that could lead to unreliable predictions
- Continuous validation against real-world outcomes to ensure accuracy
5. Security
AI model endpoints and training pipelines are secured with the same enterprise-grade protections applied to all Monitory infrastructure:
- Encrypted data in transit and at rest
- Role-based access controls
- Regular penetration testing and security audits
- SOC 2 Type II compliance
6. Third-Party AI Services
Monitory may use third-party AI services (including AWS machine learning services and large language model APIs) to power certain features. When we do:
- We ensure third-party providers meet our data protection standards
- Customer data shared with third-party AI services is governed by data processing agreements
- We do not allow third-party providers to use your data for their own model training
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Understand how AI is used in the processing of your data
- Request human review of AI-generated decisions that affect you
- Opt out of specific AI-powered features where alternatives exist
- Contact us with questions or concerns about our AI practices
8. Updates to This Policy
As AI technology evolves, so will this policy. We will notify customers of material changes and update the effective date accordingly.
