The Challenge
130+ Failed Sensors and Zero Visibility
Tyler Union needed to replace their Synapse system for power and equipment health monitoring. After Synapse ceased operations, over 130 sensors became non-functional, creating monitoring gaps across the facility.
They specifically sought early detection of equipment failures, particularly temperature and vibration monitoring for baghouse motors. Without real-time data, the team was stuck in a purely reactive maintenance mode - responding to breakdowns after they occurred rather than preventing them.
The Solution
AWS Monitron for Vibration and Temperature Monitoring
Tactical Edge AI implemented AWS Monitron to monitor vibration and temperature for predictive equipment failure detection. While not fully replacing Synapse’s functions, it addressed critical machinery monitoring needs.
The implementation included proper sensor and gateway installation, collaboration to establish normal operating values, and alert triggers configured for anomalies. The transition from zero visibility to full predictive monitoring was completed without production interruption.
