Tyler Union, a division of McWane, is a leading manufacturer of waterworks fittings, valves, and related products, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and customer service. They operate facilities equipped with a range of advanced machinery to meet the demands of their industry.
Tyler Union was seeking to replace their Synapse system, which was integral to their power monitoring and equipment health monitoring. After Synapse ceased operation, Tyler Union was left with over 130 sensors that were no longer functional, leading to gaps in their ability to monitor power usage and predict equipment failures.
In addition to power monitoring, Tyler Union was looking for a solution that would provide early detection of equipment failures—specifically, monitoring the temperature and vibration levels of critical machinery such as baghouse motors.
Tactical Edge AI stepped in to implement AWS Monitron, a system designed to monitor vibration and temperature to predict equipment failure. While Monitron did not fully cover all the functions previously handled by Synapse, it provided a reliable system for monitoring the critical areas of their machinery.
Tactical Edge worked closely with Tyler Union's team, ensuring that the sensors and gateways were properly installed and operational. Tactical Edge collaborated with Tyler Union to establish normal operating values for the equipment and set up the system to trigger alerts for any anomalies.
